Today we talk to Negin Elliott of Buttonhome about adding a splash of colour with her stylish fabric notice boards which will add a touch of personality to any home.

Did you always want to be an artist? How did you get started?

I have always had a love for fabric but never found my niche until I made my first notice board for my daughter when she was going to university. i wanted to give her something special that I had made but also something useful but pretty. i found that I really enjoyed making it and that is how it all started.

Who or what inspires you as an artist?

My inspiration is pretty fabrics.

What projects are you currently working on?

I am always looking for something fun and new to do with fabric and i have recently discovered the joy of making fabric covered buttons which I then make into magnets.

Do you have a favourite piece or one that you are most proud of?

I love all the fabrics I use but I particularly love Liberty fabrics as they are so soft and lovely to work with.

Where can we buy your work?

I sell my handmade fabric notice boards and fabric button magnets at craft fairs, etsy, ebay and from my Buttonhome facebook page –
